Abstract
Crime prevention encompasses various types, with social prevention being one of the most significant non-penal and long-term approaches. This type of prevention focuses on identifying and controlling social and environmental criminogenic factors through cultural, educational, and social interventions. The present study aims to analyze and synthesize selected research on social crime prevention by integrating findings related to policy-making and legislation in the field of crime prevention. The research methodology employed in this study is meta-synthesis, which systematically analyzes and reviews qualitative data from articles, books, and theses related to social crime prevention. Specifically, the meta-synthesis approach systematically integrates the findings of qualitative studies to develop a comprehensive understanding of social crime prevention. The findings indicate that emphasizing social prevention—particularly through strengthening educational, cultural, and religious institutions, as well as enhancing public participation—can have a significant impact on crime reduction. Moreover, meticulous planning and policy-making in economic and housing sectors play a crucial role in controlling criminogenic factors. The study concludes that successful social prevention requires the interaction between social and governmental institutions, transparency in legislation, and the localization of policies. By adopting these approaches, it is possible to enhance social security and reduce social crimes in society.
